Can't install Norton 360
Haven't been able to install N360 for 3 weeks now. Uninstalled the expired
Norton program. Called Symantec, paid $99.95 to have virus's removed and
program installed, now they tell me that there is a problem with your windows
installer. The tech said he tried to install a new copy of the windows
installer, but it is giving the error on the screen. When I try to load
N360, it tells me "Product Error". Any suggestions. I have no Anti virus
protection in my computer and I am concerned. Thank you in advance.

Though this isn't the right newsgroup (a windows XP or Windows Vista group
would've been a better choice, this is a .NET programming newsgroup); The
following tool might help you:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

It's the Windows Installer Cleanup tool. Just install it and open it from
the start menu.

Scroll down the list and clean all the norton/symantec products from the
installation history. Then try re-installing them. If that doesn't work,
you're probably best off re-installing the whole PC, which is something I
would've done anyhow if my pc had been infected, just to be sure.
