error installing .net Framework 3.0
I am trying to install/repair .Net Framework 3.0. The install goes part way
and "crashes". The error message in the log file says, "Windows Presentation
Foundation: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Windows Presentation
Foundation. MSI returned error code 1612". How do I fix that so I can repair
the install?

Re: error installing .net Framework 3.0
I was having similar problems, error message was different, but could not
get .NET Framework 3.0 installed and/or repair installed.
Figured I'd try to see what happened when installing .NET Framework 3.5 - it
installed just fine and it installed 3.0 at the same time. Problem solved.

Re: error installing .net Framework 3.0
I tried installing 3.5 Beta 2 and got the following error:
[08/12/07,19:51:15] Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0a: [2] Error: Installation
failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0a. MSI returned error code
1603
[08/12/07,19:53:19] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework
3.0a is not installed.
Now what?

Re: error installing .net Framework 3.0
Does the Event Viewr's Application of ==r Systenm log have any info about the failure?
Are you running the install as the Administrator on that PC?
What Machine OS and version?

Re: error installing .net Framework 3.0
I'm running on XP Pro SP2. I am the administrator.
The file "dd_dotnetfx3error.txt" says,
[08/16/07,17:50:03] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: [2] Error: Installation
failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. MSI returned error code
1603
[08/16/07,17:50:39] setup.exe: [2] ISetupComponent::Pre/Post/Install()
failed in ISetupManager::InternalInstallManager() with HRESULT -2147023293.
Is there any other place to look for errors?
