PurgeComm
Does anyone know if PurgeComm really works on CE?

What do you mean by "really works"? If you mean does it flush the
controller FIFO, well that depends on how the OEM implemented the driver.
The OS has no control over if it works properly or not.

If you find that it doesn't work, for some reason, do what I do... Just read
all of the buffered data and discard it.
