Visual Studio 2008 - should we bother?
I like using VB2005, but I'm still unhappy about unstable it is. Basically,
there are loads of bugs that require work arounds.
VS2008 will be out within 6 months. I'd bet good money that will severely
reduce the amount of new fixes for VS2005.
For me, there's two reasons to move to VS2008:
1) I like the idea of LINQ
2) Buggy components will be fixed in it.
For example, the next fix for the Report Viewer control won't be released
until VS2008.
Reasons for not moving to VS2008:
1) I don't know if I can take learning yet another method to access data
2) Reading books that were written using the beta, and finding they don't
correspond to the finished product. God knows it happened enough times with
VS005. **
3) By moving, I feel like I'm telling MS that its ok to give me shoddy
product. Hey, I'll buy whatever your marketing guys tell me!
4) I finally have a decent Help system built up, with my favourites file
contain some good VB stites. We all know the help that comes with VS2008
will suck. It will take a lot of research to build up a decent Help again.
5) A whole new round of bugs. But I guess I can wait until SP1 to avoid most
of them.
Any thoughts?

C'est la vie
You didn't say anything about legacy/exisiting investment, so you HAVE no
complaints. Just think of the poor devils that invested their companies
resouces into a big plunge into VS2003.
That's why they pay you the big bucks. <g>
