Framework 2.0 Question
Hi ! I'm a casual computer user, no interest in development or programming.
I have a program on my computer called Net framework 2.0 It's 88.80 mb and I
would like to delete it if I don't need it. Can I safely delete it or is
this program used for other things. I do have a wireless network to a 2nd
floor computer.
Thanks for your help.

It may well be used by another program. It's basically a platform that
other programs can use - you can almost think of it as an extension to
Windows.

It's *possible* that you could remove it without breaking anything, but
it's almost certainly best to leave it as it is.

I would more strongly urge you not to delete it. Most likely any new
program from Microsoft, or a third-party developer who uses the
Microsoft development environment will require one of the .NET
frameworks, and newer programs will probably require version 2.0.
Version 3.0 is coming out soon, too and it will most likely be
installed as part of new operating systems and come installed with new
PCs. It would almost be like deleting part of the operating system.
You could possibly get by without it in the short term, but eventually
you will get a program that needs it. As you can see, it's a
relatively large file, especially if you're downloading it over a dial-
up connection. You'll kick yourself later.

Re: Framework 2.0 Question
Vista computer?

If not, I would definitely not delete it as some other program installed it.
If Vista, you have the option, but you might find a few pieces of Vista not
working correctly. :-)
